Berry picking
We had a great day picking berries in Placerville today. It was nice to get out of Sacramento and enjoy the beautiful gold rush town. We went to the American River Cherry Company to do our picking. It was a beautiful place with plenty of berry bushes, cherry orchards, a koi pond and a hammock that beckoned you to lay down and stay awhile. We went up with our good friends and spent a lovely day gathering berries and then staying and having a picnic on the property. The berries are near their end but there were still plenty for us to pick. We were able to get Ollalie, Marion, boysenberry and raspberry. They also had blueberries. We will definitely go next year, but earlier in June to have a better pick. I will also not wear white to pick berries as that was not a great wardrobe choice for obvious reasons. I am already looking forward to next year. Yum!
